About

Vivek Hari Sridhar

I am a post-doctoral researcher in the Department for the Ecology of Animal Societies, at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior and the University of Konstanz. My interests lie in understanding how and why, animals move the way that they do, how they search for resources in their environment, how they choose among several such options, and the ecological and evolutionary consequences of such decisions.

To do this, I combine theory with high-throughput lab experiments and field-based studies. By combining cutting-edge developments in the computer vision and machine learning with my understanding of ecology and animal behaviour, I hope to reveal fundamental principles that govern individual and collective animal behaviour, at both generational and evolutionary timescales.
